The Greenhouse Staff

Cindy Reed - Greenhouse
Ext. 239
Cindy Reed has been in the wholesale nursery business for countless years, but this true Earth Mother has had time to earn her degree in Plant Science from SUNY and to initiate a horticulture arm for three separate companies in her time. Lucky for us, she has been mothering plants here at Seagroatt Riccardi for many years! If you want to catch up with Cindy on the weekends, if she’s not here checking her little green charges, you’ll probably find this multi-talented woman reading historical fiction, quilting, scrapbooking, or painting.
Jessic Virtue - Greenhouse
Ext. 229
Jessica Virtue came to grace our Greenhouse with her gentle ways. On any given day you can find her calmly tending the plants, paying particular attention to her favorite, Jasmine. That love is clearly evident when you catch a glimpse of her sorting, clipping, watering, and thoughtfully arranging them into complimentary groups for a dish garden with the precision and delicate touch of a neurosurgeon. Her low-key, yet confident and knowledgeable nature cheers up and inspires all who come in contact with her. On the weekend you will find Jessica spending time with her two loves: her family and shopping.
Monica Wells - Greenhouse
Monica Wells didn’t have to travel far to become the newest member of the Greenhouse team. Monica grew up right here in the Capital District. A native of Ballston Spa, she graduated from Ballston Spa High School and went on to earn her BS degree at SUNY Cobleskill in Plant Science. Not only does she nurse plants along for you in our greenhouse, but is an avid gardener at home. Monica is not one to cultivate vegetables, (she leaves those to be sourced at the Farmer’s Market) her concentration is on flowering plants. Rumor has it her garden at home is almost beyond belief, filled with every color you can imagine and without a weed in sight. On the weekends in the summer, if not in her garden, you might find Monica hiking and camping in the Adirondacks with daughter, Briana, age 3, who shares her mother’s passion for plants, and her husband, Sean. In the cold months we’re most likely to find her curled up in a sunny window seat with books and her two dogs, Jack and Fiona and two cats, Zeus and Gremlin. We are so pleased to have Monica and her always cheerful ways as part of the Seagroatt Riccardi family!
